Update: March 15, 2020 6:00 PM

Dear Parents, Guardians, Staff and Community Members,
As your Superintendent, I value my role in protecting students and staff and working to accommodate the needs of our families. After much deliberation, and in cooperation with the Stanislaus County Office of Education, we will suspend Keyes Union School District schools effective Thursday, March 19 through Sunday April 5th. We collectively believe this is in the best interest of our students and staff. We will notify you in the event that schools remain suspended beyond this time frame.
By closing on Thursday, this gives our families who need it, time to make arrangements for childcare. However, if the number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in our County increases between now and this Wednesday, we will close our schools earlier.
During the closure, we are going to attempt to provide nutrition services to our families. More details on this will follow later on this week.
We are also working on providing schoolwork for our students to continue in their education while the schools are closed. More details on this will follow. I understand the concerns and many opinions that are circulating about COVID-19 and I am taking responsibility to act in the best interests of our students, staff, and loved ones. Please continue to check our website at for updated information.
